Cookie Policy

The short version

This website does not use cookies. Not analytics cookies, not advertising cookies, not "strictly necessary" ones. That is why you have never seen a consent banner here — there is nothing to consent to.

1. No cookies

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store and send back on every subsequent request. This site never asks your browser to store one. There is no analytics product, no advertising network, no embedded social media widget and no session or login system, so nothing on these pages has any reason to set a cookie.

You are welcome to verify this: open your browser's developer tools, look under Application or Storage, and the cookie list for this domain will be empty.

2. The one thing that is stored on your device

The project build guides offer a light and a dark reading theme. If you press that switch, your choice is remembered using localStorage — a browser feature that is related to cookies but importantly different: it is never transmitted to the server. It simply sits in your browser so the page does not forget your preference next time.

It holds no identifier, nothing personal, and nothing that could be used to recognise you anywhere else. Under the EU ePrivacy rules this is storage that is strictly necessary to provide a feature you explicitly asked for, which is the category that does not require consent. It is only ever written if you actually press the switch.

3. How to remove it

Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings removes it, as does browsing in a private or incognito window. Nothing on the site will break — the guides simply return to their default theme.

4. Requests to other websites

Some illustration photographs on the project build guides are loaded directly from Wikimedia Commons and credited in their captions. Loading any image from another website reveals your IP address and browser user-agent to that website, exactly as it would if you visited it yourself. Wikimedia sets no cookies through these image requests. Fonts, stylesheets and scripts are all served from this domain, so no other outside request is made as you read.

5. Getting in touch

Anything you want to raise about this page — a question, a correction or a complaint — should be sent by email to sid@siddhantkumar.in. That is the only channel monitored for this site; correspondence sent on paper is not accepted. The full position on notices is in the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

6. If this ever changes

If cookies or any analytics were ever introduced, this page would say so plainly, a proper consent mechanism would be added first, and non-essential storage would be off until you actively agreed. See also the Privacy Policy.

All correspondence is by email. Questions, complaints, privacy requests and legal notices about this site should go to sid@siddhantkumar.in — the only channel that is monitored. Nothing sent on paper is accepted or read. I answer personally.
