High above every border, beyond the reach of most eyes, the men and women of the Indian Air Force keep watch over the nation. Many of their stories are never told. Some of their names are known only to the sky.
The Sky Remembers Their Names is Siddhant Kumar's tribute to them. Across twenty poems, he writes of the courage it takes to climb into a cockpit, the silence of a sortie that does not return, and the quiet pride of the families who wait below.
These are poems of flight and of sacrifice, of duty carried lightly and remembered deeply. They are written with reverence and in simple, heartfelt language, so that every reader can feel what the sky has witnessed.
Raised in an Army family, Siddhant grew up with the language of service. His first collection, Guardians in the Gale: The Unsung Breath of Heroes, gave voice to the unsung heroes of India's Armed Forces. With this second book, he turns his gaze upward, to the blue where India's air warriors serve.
This book is for every reader who has looked up at a fighter's trail and felt pride. It is for every family that has given someone to the sky, and for every young Indian who dreams of wearing the uniform.
I grew up in an Army family, where postings, farewells and long waits for a phone call are part of ordinary life. I learned early that the people who guard us rarely speak of what it costs them.
When I wrote Guardians in the Gale, I tried to give a voice to the unsung heroes of our Armed Forces. But my thoughts kept returning to the sky, to the air warriors whose bravery happens far above us, out of sight. Their stories deserved a book of their own.
The Sky Remembers Their Names is my small salute to them. I cannot fly beside them, and I can never repay what they have given. But I can make sure their names are remembered, in words that last as long as the sky above us.
My pen is my salute. Jai Hind.Siddhant Kumar

It is a collection of twenty poems honouring the Indian Air Force: the courage of its air warriors, the sacrifices they make and the families who stand behind them.
Guardians in the Gale paid tribute to the unsung heroes of all of India's Armed Forces. The Sky Remembers Their Names turns to the sky and is dedicated entirely to the Air Force.
